The university & the city
Harbin, on the record
Harbin, the capital of Heilongjiang province in northeast China, is known for its icy winters, its Russian-influenced old town, and the annual Ice and Snow Festival. HIT’s main campus sits at No. 92 West Dazhi Street in the Nangang District, and this is where the Chinese language programs run.

Harbin is the classroom
Take your Mandarin beyond HIT: read the signs on Zhongyang Street, ask your way to the Songhua River, and order something warm. In winter, ice sculptures give you a whole new set of things to talk about.
